Return to Kyrandia

Malcolm's rough ride to the surface dislodges a huge rock and frees Stewart, his long lost good conscience. You now have the opportunity to choose Malcolm's conscience going forward: Gunther, Stewart or even both. With his conscience in order, it's up to you to finally prove Malcolm's innocence over the murders of King William and Queen Katherine.

Malcolm's change in conscience isn't the only strange thing going on around here. Besides your mood meter being put out of commission, Kyrandia has been taken over by Jean Claude's band of pirates. It's only a matter of time before Louie captures you and brings you back to their headquarters at the castle foyer. Jean Claude is too busy to speak but Louie says they would be willing to leave if you were to deliver all six of the jewels from the Isle of Cats.

Looking around Kyrandia will reveal that Herman has set up a pawn shop where the baths used to be. You won't have anything he is looking to buy but the jewels from the Isle of Cats are always welcome at his shop. The old town hall in downtown Kyrandia is completely boarded up and can only be visited by taking the cellar below the toy factory. To go back outside, you will have to climb back up the pipe in the cellar. The Sculpture there is essential in proving Malcolm's innocence but is unable to help while pirates still rule Kyrandia.

If you press your luck trying to talk to Jean Claude, Louie will turn Malcolm into a mouse and haul him off to their temporary jail. Within the former Magician's Lodge, you will find Duane, Zanthia and Vince locked up also. The first item needed for your escape is a nail. If you don't already have one from the dump, use the Jester's Staff on the fellow prisoners in the stockade until one shakes loose. Free Malcolm and then open the stockade to gain the items they were holding. The nail won't work on the door but you now have something better. Combine the sesame seed with the eel to fertilize them and place it on the jail door. Add the flask of water then let it work its magic.

You will once again need to find a way to leave Kyrandia for the Isle of Cats. Unlike before, you only have two methods available:

Zanthia's Pegasus Potion
For this option, you will need to free Zanthia and the others from the temporary prison. You will then find her in the old town hall with her cauldron. She is willing to help if it means saving Kyrandia but is still missing an 'essence of horse'. Return to the toy factory with a log and select the horse with the levers and confirm with the instruction manual. Add the log to the machine and press the green button to collect the item then give it to Zanthia. Remember, the potion must be used at the Pegasus Landing

The Portal Potion
This option will only be available if Gunther is you sole conscience. Otherwise, Brandywine won't be able to believe Malcolm's personality change is for real and will send him away. Visit Darm's home by clicking the green then red apples on the magic carpet in the cellar below the toy factory. Brandywine will offer to help if you return with her favorite squirrel snack. Return to the castle dump, snag a nut-on-a-string, then use it to hypnotize the squirrel. With the Portal Potion in hand, visit the arena near the outskirts of town and use it on the footprints.

*You can also choose to exit outside Darm's home to reminisce with some old friends from Kyrandia 1.

The Isle of Cats... Again

On the former pirate beach, pick up the machete and hack your way back to Fluffy's spot. On the way, be sure to pick up any bones you come across. You will learn that Fluffy is now leading a revolution against the Fat Cats. He will gift you a cheese-maker to aid in destroying the magic statues, but only if you chose a single conscience. If you picked both, he will request 10 dog bones before he will hand it over. You can visit the Dog Fort and use the machete as a shovel to unearth them or simply walk around the jungle cutting away bushes. If you are having trouble getting enough, turn in what you have and more will be found around the jungle.

Take the cheese and give it to the central mouse statue. The surrounding statues will revert to their original form and relinquish their gems. Pick them up and return to Fluffy. He will give Malcolm a magical empty can of cat food that will send you anywhere you want to go.

Back at Kyrandia, it's time to get rid of the pirates. Give Jean Claude a gem to get his attention and he will finally begin speaking to you. You can turn over the rest if you want but he was never good for his word. Instead, give him a more fitting gift. Head back to the castle dump to retrieve your fish collar. With the fish collar in place, Jean Claude is sent off to spend the rest of his days playing tic-tac-toe.

With the pirates gone, you can finally set out to prove Malcolm's innocence with a Royal Seance. You can turn Brandon and Kallak back to normal with some cheese but they still won't trust Malcolm. The Sculpture in the town hall is now able to help and wants you to assemble all of Kyrandia's citizens. You must also show him the artifacts that will be used to summon William's ghost. Remembering the Seance in the Fish Kingdom, you will need a likeness of the deceased and an item that looks back in time. For the likeness, check under Malcolm's bed back in his room. The second item comes in the less obvious form of Marko's old magic cabinet, right there in the town hall. Put the portrait in the cabinet to briefly summon William, who will reveal the truth about the cursed dagger that murdered him.

All that remains is to draw a crowd for Malcolm's trial. There's no better place than Kyrandia's Fish Cream Parlour but the machine is wrecked. If Duane is still a mouse, give him some cheese and he will get to work fixing it. Meanwhile begin collecting the ingredients he will need to get back in business. You will need an eel, sesame seed and some cream.

You are going to need at least three sesame seeds. Unfortunately, Herman's pawn shop is the only place where they can be found. If he is looking for something you don't have, come back again and he will be looking for something else. If he has a knife up for sale, go ahead and listen to your conscience and walk away.

Once you have all three seeds, return to the cellar beneath the toy factory and catch three eels with your bent-nail-on-a-string. Fertilize two sesame seeds and water them with your flask to create sprouts. You can find extra empty flasks at the dump. Visit the dairy with a nail and empty flask in hand. Dump the two sprouts in the hopper and the cows will come home. Puncture the container with a nail and fill a flask with the final ingredient.

At the Fish Cream Parlour, add an eel, sesame seed and cream to the machine to receive a fish cream sandwich. Don't eat it! Now that everyone in Kyrandia is sure to return, it's time to get Malcolm's trial under way. Return to the Sculpture in the old town hall and give him the fish cream sandwich. He will teleport everything you need right into the parlour. Put the portrait into the cabinet and William will reveal the truth to everyone.

At long last, Malcolm's name is cleared and he can finally get some peace and quiet...
